Create a new client
Allocating a client or project to tasks allows an extra level of time tracking. It will make things easier when reporting on your time entries and invoicing a particular client by tracking the scope of work you've completed for that client.
Create a client
There are a few ways you can create a new client.
- From the timer screen.
- From the client management screen.
- From your time entries screen, when editing a completed time entry.
Create a new client from the client management screen
- Visit the client management screen.
- In the top right-hand corner, click 'Add client.'
- Enter the client's name.
- Enter your agreed hourly rate for this client. Either type or, use the arrows provided.
- Click 'Save.'
Create a new client from the timer screen
- Client on the 'Choose a client' field.
- Type in the name of the client.
- Select "Create (Client name)" at the top of the drop-down menu.
Your new client will exist in your drop-down menu from now on, and in your client management screen.
To assign an hourly rate to this new client;
- Visit the client management screen.
- Find the client you just created.
- Click on the '0' under the hourly rate column, alongside the client.
- Enter in the agreed hourly rate. Either type or, use the arrows provided.
- Click 'Save.'
Create a new client from the time entries screen
In your time entries, you can remove, reassign or create a new client to past time entries. For example, you may have selected the wrong client at the time of running this session or, quickly ran a session without selecting or creating a new client.
To create a new client for an existing time entry;
- Visit the 'Time entries' screen.
- Find the session you would like to create a new client for.
If you completed quite a few sessions during a certain date period, you can quickly identify the session that does not have a client allocated to it. This session will only show as the label that was used or, (missing label) if there wasn't a label used.
3. Click on the underlined session you would like to edit.
4. Click on the '-' icon under the 'Client' column.
5. Type in the name of the new client.
6. Select "Create (Client name)" at the top of the drop-down menu.
7. Click 'Save.'
